RALEIGH, N.C. — The
North Carolina Symphony
has a new director.
Grant Llewellyn will take the baton from the retired Gerhardt Zimmerman. He said he is ready to get to work.
"I sense North Carolina is a happening place. The economy is on the upturn. All the ingredients seem to be pointing in the direction of a new age for this orchestra in which we have to be ambitious," Llewellyn said.
The symphony will perform under Llewellyn's direction for the first time in September.
