FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Sgt. Gerald White was scheduled to deploy Wednesday with
many other Fort Bragg soldiers.
White is the soldier whose family WRAL followed for more than six months while he was deployed in Afghanistan. His wife, Angela, is pregnant.
Sgt. White said he really wants to be home for the delivery because he missed the birth of his daughter, Savannah. The soldier will get his wish, but not under the best circumstances.
Sgt. White got special permission to stay close to home because Angela is having a high-risk pregnancy.
