Authorities said Eileen Greene Woods, 85, of Zenith Street, was driving her 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass when she attempted to make a left turn on to Guess Road. According to investigators, Woods' car turned into the path of a northbound 1996 Ford dump truck driven by Rodney Frank Cooper, 24, of Oxford.
Police said the front bumper of the dump truck collided with the driver's side door of the car. Woods was pronounced dead at the scene. Cooper was not injured.
No charges have been filed. Police said there was no indication that speed or alcohol was a factor in the accident.
Traffic on Guess Road was tied up for almost three hours.
