WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — Child care vouchers for low-income families will not be cut in Wake County for now.
The county had planned to eliminate vouchers for 700 school-age children in February due to a $1.5 million budget shortfall.
Program officials tell WRAL they have managed to come up with additional funds to avoid cutting vouchers at least through the end of March.
