Eastbound Highway 70 Reopens In Johnston County After Tanker Accident

Traffic is flowing again in Johnston County following an accident involving a tanker truck and pickup truck.

SELMA, N.C. — Traffic is flowing again in Johnston County following an accident involving a tanker truck and a semi.

The accident happened at around 4 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Highway 70 and West Oak Street near Selma.

Eastbound lanes of Highway 70 were shut down while crews cleared the accident scene. Crews reopened the roadway at around 7 a.m.

Authorities said the driver of the semi was hurt, but there was no word on the extent of that person's injuries.
