DURHAM, N.C. — In the past couple of years, packs of roaming dogs have hounded people in the Bull City. Now, animal control is considering increasing fines for owners who let their dogs run wild.
The fees would double under the new proposal. First-time offenses would be $50. Second-time offenses would cost $100.
The proposed ordinance will be presented to county commissioners next year.
