Raleigh Police Arrest Suspect In Bank Robbery

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police have arrested a suspect in a Monday bank robbery.

Police have taken John Craig Valentine, of 1412 Marlborough Road, into custody. He is suspected of robbing the First Citizens Bank at 1839 Capital Blvd.

The robbery occurred at approximately 10 a.m. Monday, when the suspect entered the bank and passed a note to a teller demanding money. The suspect reportedly left the scene threatening that he left an explosive device behind.

The Raleigh Police Department and a bomb squad investigated the package left at the bank, but it did not contain a bomb.
