RALEIGH, N.C. — Snow flurries were reported in Wake, Cumberland, Moore, Orange, Person and Harnett counties around lunchtime Friday. But they were not expected to cause any problems, stay on the ground or last very long.
Snow also was said to be falling in Sampson County around 1 p.m.
The forecast for the rest of Friday in most of the Triangle-area counties called for a chance of sprinkles or snow flurries. But with highs in the lower 40s, many of the snow flakes coming down were expected to dissipate even before they hit the ground.
Saturday's forecast calls for mostly sunny skies in the afternoon, with highs in the upper 30's.
