Officials Make Arrest In Deadly Kenly Shooting

KENLY, N.C. — Wilson County deputies have made an arrest in a deadly shooting in Kenly Thursday night.

Authorities said Kenly police officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Whitley Drive just before midnight and observed a vehicle leaving the area.

Officers stopped the vehicle and learned that a man had been shot.They called for assistance from the Wilson and Johnston County Sheriff's Office.

When Wilson County deputies arrived at the home on N. Whitley Drive, they found Phillip Mohammed McIver inside, dead from a gunshot wound.

The investigation led to the arrest of Terrance Jermaine Quinlan, 23.

Quinlan was charged with murder and is being held in the Wilson County jail without bond.

Three others were detained, but later released.
