Moore County School Board Appeals Repayment Order

Posted Updated

MOORE COUNTY, N.C. — The Moore County Board of Education is appealing an order to repay $104,000 in misspent funds.

The state money was used to reward students who did well on the SAT, but was meant for other students in need.

An investigation nearly cost the superintendent his job.

If the appeal is denied, the school board would have to find the money to repay the state.
