Special Session Convenes To Discuss Jobs

RALEIGH, N.C. — The General Assembly is meeting in a special session in Raleigh to consider economic incentives for two major projects.

Gov. Mike Easley is asking for up to $25 million to purchase and develop land in Durham for Merck Pharmaceuticals.

Easley also wants lawmakers to extend a tax credit for RJ Reynolds in Winston-Salem.
