RALEIGH, N.C. — The state Supreme Court heard arguments Tuesday in what could be a landmark case pitting a dead student's family against a school.
In August 1998, 17-year old Max Draughon collapsed during football practice at Triton High. He later died.
His family filed a wrongful death suit against four school system employees, which was thrown out by the appeals court.
The state Supreme Court will decide if that lawsuit should be reinstated.
