Wake Schools Security Director Resigns

Posted Updated

WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — The man in charge of security at Wake County schools has resigned.

Corey Duber worked as school security chief for about six years. He told WRAL he left because of medical reasons.

Duber believes Wake County schools became safer during his tenure with updates in technology and proceedures.

School leaders had no comment. The school system plans to launch a nationwide search for Duber's replacement.
