Light Up Durham Announces Street Closures For Parade

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham's annual holiday celebration is just a few days away.

Light Up Durham will be held Saturday, featuring live music and a holiday parade through downtown.

Organizers said they block off several streets Saturday for the event. Starting at 12:30 p.m., parts of Ramseur and Corcoran streets will be closed for about three hours.

Stretches of Mangum, Morgan and Foster streets will be closed from 1:15 p.m.-4 p.m.

Finally, sections of Corporation, Morris and Foster streets will closed from 1:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m.

Light Up Durham begins at 10 a.m. with entertainment at the Durham Arts Council, Carolina Theatre, downtown YMCA, the Blue Coffee Company and the Hayti Heritage Center. All events will be held indoors and will be over by 1:30 p.m.
