Durham Police Investigate Double Shooting

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are investigating a double shooting that occurred Sunday night in the 1100 block of Gurley Street.
Police said the incident occurred around 8:15 p.m.
One victim, 22-year-old Bennie McDonald, suffered a non life-threatening gunshot wound to his face and was treated at a local hospital.
The second victim, 29-year-old Jonathan Hamlet, suffered a gunshot wound to his chest and was in critical condition at a local hospital late Sunday.
Investigators said the double shooting appears to be the result of a confrontation between two rival gangs.
No charges had been filed by late Sunday.
