Moore Schools Must Refund $104,000 To State

Posted Updated

MOORE COUNTY, N.C. — Moore County schools have less than a month to refund more than $100,000 to the state.

Officials claim the school system misspent more than $104,000 over a three-year period.

The money was supposed to be used for at-risk students, but some of the money was used on salaries and to reward students who did well on SAT tests.

The school system can file an appeal.
