Bankrupt Textile Company Wants To Cancel Health Plan For Retirees

Posted Updated

VANCE COUNTY, N.C. — Retired textile workers in Vance County may have to fight for health benefits.

This summer, Harriet and Henderson Yarns filed bankruptcy. The company says it cannot sustain health insurance for its retirees and it wants a bankruptcy judge to cancel the plan.

Dozens of people lost their jobs in July when the company shut down its Henderson plant.
