Durham Breaks Ground On New DATA Facility

DURHAM, N.C. — The Bull City is gettting a multimillion-dollar bus facility courtesy of the federal government.

City leaders broke ground Monday morning on the new

Durham Area Transit Authority

(DATA) operations facility.

The 13-acre site on Fay Street will feature three office buildings and two garage facilities.

It will cost more than $10 million to build and $8 million of that amount is federally funded.

The facility is expected to be completed by December 2004.
