Wendell Police Investigate Home Invasion

WENDELL, N.C. — Police in Wendell are looking for two men believed involved in a home invasion Wednesday night.

The police chief said a call was received at 10:45 p.m. that an armed robbery had taken place at a home on the 4000 block of Wendell Boulevard.

When police arrived, they found Robey and Virginia Morgan tied up. The couple, who was not injured, said two men entered their home forcibly with handguns.

Police said the men stole the couple's 1997 Cadillac before abandoning it on Stokes Road in Nash County. They are still on the run.

Robey Morgan won the Spivey Corner National Hollerin' contest in 1997.
