State's Top Linemen Put Skills To Test

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — They usually shimmy up poles to get your power running during disasters, but on Wednesday, the state's top linemen put their life-saving skills to the test.

Twenty-five electrical workers participated in this year's Poletop Rescue Championship at Triangle Town Center.

The competition tests their ability to save a fellow worker, who is shocked atop a utility pole.

Leonard Person of Wayne County took away this year's top prize.
