DOT To Temporarily Close U.S. 1 South Exit Ramp Thursday

RALEIGH, N.C. — The N.C. Department of Transportation will temporarily close the southbound U.S. 1 exit ramp at N.C. 55 in Wake County Thursday from 7 a.m until 1 p.m.

Southbound U.S. 1 motorists needing to travel on N.C. 55 should use the following signed detour:

  • Exit onto Ten Ten Road (exit 96) to Lufkin Road (state Route 1444) to N.C. 55
  • The closing is part of the N.C. 55 widening project.

    NCDOT reminds motorists to be aware of construction workers in the work zone by staying alert and watching signs for construction information.
