RALEIGH, N.C. — The Board of Elections has ruled on a complaint filed in the Cary mayor's race.

Candidate Julie Robison accused her rival, Ernie McAlister, of violating fundraising laws. The board investigated and found that no laws were broken.

A supporter of McAlister said he made a mistake by sending an e-mail asking for what amounted to anonymous donations.
