CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Saturday marked "the day after" one of the biggest parties of the year.

Thousands of Halloween revelers packed Franklin Street in Chapel Hill for the annual ghoulish party, with Friday's festivities filling up a three-quarter-of-a mile stretch.

The party attracted its usual crowd of the curious, the colorful and the very creative. An army of law enforcement officers made sure things did not get too frightful.

Chapel Hill police reported Saturday that there was not any trouble Friday night.

The costume-clad crowd -- estimated at 75,000 people -- partied until about 3 a.m. Saturday.
