RALEIGH, N.C. — All campaign ads cost money and Sen. John McCain is part of the fight to change how that money is raised.
The Arizona Republican told reporters in Raleigh that change is quickly needed in the way judges raise money for campaigns. Some judges have been criticized for taking donations from attorneys who could appear before them.
"It's not just the contributions from a lawyer, but it's from other special interests. Somebody who knows they will have some issue that will be up before the judicial system," McCain said.
McCain's visit was sponsored by the North Carolina Center for Voter Education.
