Man Dies Following Hotel Collapse On Outer Banks

BUXTON, N.C. — A man has died following an accident Friday on the Outer Banks.
The floor of the Cape Hatteras Motel collapsed on two men who had been working beneath it. The motel had been badly damaged by Hurricane Isabel.
The men were pinned. One was crushed, and his mouth and lungs filled with sand. EMS crews performed CPR but could not save him.
The man was from Mexico, and his family is desperate to have his body flown home.
The other man has been released from the hospital.
