Jury Selection Begins Monday In Trial Of Former State Ag Commissioner

RALEIGH, N.C. — The former state agriculture commissioner will go to trial next week.

Jury selection begins Monday in the Wake County trial of Meg Scott Phipps. She faces perjury and obstruction of justice charges related to the campaign scandal.

Phipps is accused of lying about illegal contributions and loans. Her federal trial is tentatively set for next month.
