VANCE COUNTY, N.C. — Two Northern Vance High School students are jailed, accused of bringing a gun to school.
Vance County sheriff's deputies arrested Shamon Yancey and Derrick Haywood Friday after a school resource officer alerted them to a gun inside a car on school grounds.
Sheriff Thomas Bredlove said said the students, ages 17 and 18, may have a grudge against another student.
The students are charged with having a gun on educational property and are each being held on $5,000 bond.
Yancey and Haywood are expected in court Oct. 20.
