RALEIGH, N.C. — A Wake County grand jury indicted a former Zebulon teacher on sex charges Wednesday.
Christopher Journigan, who taught at Zebulon Elementary, is accused of having a sexual relationship with a student for three years.
The boy was 12 years old when police arrested Journigan in August.
Journigan was suspended with pay in August after being charged with eight counts of first-degree statutory sexual offense against a minor. The charges were related to offenses that allegedly occurred from May 14, 2002, to July 17, 2003.
Journigan resigned last month to devote his attention to contesting the criminal charges against him.
