IRS Gives Storm Victims Extension On Tax Deadline

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Uncle Sam is giving victims of Hurricane Isabel a break.

The Internal Revenue Service is giving individuals and businesses in the 26 North Carolina counties that were declared disaster areas more time to file and pay certain taxes.

The new deadline is Nov. 18.

Employers also have longer to make federal tax deposits. They have until Sept. 29.
