Raleigh-Durham International Airport
are expected to resume Friday.
Airlines are planning to resume operations between 8 a.m- 10 a.m. Because aircraft will not be parked at the airport overnight, passengers with early morning flights will encounter cancellations and delays.
Passengers are encouraged to contact their airlines about flight operations and to reschedule flights. The airport also reminds passengers that inclement weather along the East Coast could impact flights at RDU throughout the weekend.
All essential Airport Authority staff will remain at the airport to monitor the storm and prepare the airport for the resumption of flight operations Friday.
Nearly 60 flights departed RDU Thursday before airlines began canceling operations due to heavy rain and gusty winds. Nearly 350 inbound and outbound flights were canceled. The last flight departed RDU at 1:05 p.m. en route to Tampa, Fla.
RDU urges passengers with travel plans to call the appropriate reservation number to confirm flight departure as further changes are possible. Travelers can also visit airline Web sites to find out the status of their flight. A link to a flight tracking Web site can also be found on the
RDU Web site.
