Isabel Forces Amtrak To Shut Down Service To N.C.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Weather conditions associated with Hurricane Isabel have promptedstate transportation and

Amtrak

officials to cancel all trainsThursday that provide service in North Carolina.

The following trains will be affected:

Piedmont (trains 73,74), which provides service between Raleigh andCharlotte

Carolinian (trains 79, 80), which operates between Charlotte andNew York City

Crescent (trains 19, 20), which runs between New York City and NewOrleans

Silver Meteor (trains 97, 98), which provides service between NewYork and Florida

Silver Star (trains 91, 92), which provides service between NewYork and Florida

Palmetto (trains 89, 90), which provides service between New Yorkand Florida

No decisions have been made about train services for Friday.
