2 Injured in Butner Construction Accident

Two men were injured Monday morning at a construction site in Butner.

BUTNER, N.C. — Two men were injured Monday morning at a construction site in Butner.

Authorities said the two men were injured while constructing a scaffolding near Central Avenue and Veasey Road. The site will be the home of the Central Region Psychiatric Hospital, which is being built to replace Dorothea Dix Hospital in Raleigh.

Officials said one person suffered a leg injury and the other suffered a shoulder injury.

Emergency personnel were called to the scene and transported the workers to the hospital.
