CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — Cumberland County investigators are trying to identify a skeleton found in the woods Sunday.
Horseback riders found the skeleton around 6 p.m. in a field near Gillis Hill Road and Old Raeford Road.
Investigators said a medical exam shows the body was a 30- to 40-year-old African-American man who was missing a front upper tooth. The exam revealed the man has been dead for close to a year.
