Durham Police Ask For Information On Assault/Robbery

— Durham police investigators are asking for information about an assault and robbery that occurred Tuesday morning at the Kmart Plaza on Avondale Drive.

The 37-year-old victim drove up to an ATM to withdraw cash around 6:30 a.m. A man standing near the ATM told the victim to "give it up." A second man then stabbed the victim in the abdomen with an unknown weapon. The suspects robbed the victim of his wallet and jewelry.

The victim was taken to Duke University Medical Center for treatment of his injuries, which did not appear to be life-threatening.

One suspect was described as a black male, 16 to 19 years old, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall and 150 to 165 pounds. He had a light brown complexion, a mustache and goatee and uncombed hair. He was wearing a Kings ball cap, a green T-shirt and blue jeans.

The second suspect was described as a black male, 16 to 19 years old, 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet 1 inches tall with a large build. He had a dark complexion and a mustache and goatee. He was wearing a white ball cap, a white T-shirt and blue jeans.
