Another Computer Worm Strikes Wake County

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — On the day a Minnesota teenager was arrested for unleashing a computer worm on Internet users around the world, a different worm created havoc in Wake County Library computers.

All the computers at the Cameron Village branch in Raleigh, as well as computers in other Wake County libraries, were taken down Friday because of the the W32-Welchia worm.

The worm finds a breach in computers that do not have anti-virus software, then takes over their address books.
