Durham Police Investigate South Roxboro Street Homicide

DURHAM, N.C. — Police in Durham are investigating a homicide that occurred Saturday night.

Officers were called to 2508 South Roxboro Street just before 10 p.m. When they arrived, they foundDouglas Thornton, 19, of Summit Street, with a gunshot wound.

Thornton was taken to Duke University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Investigators have not determined a motive for the shooting and there is no suspect information at this time.
