Cumberland Substance Abuse Supervisor Charged With DWI Out Of Job

Posted Updated

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — A substance abuse supervisor, who pleaded guilty to drunken driving, is out of a job.

In July, Stuart Bowers was pulled over by state troopers twice on the same night on DWI charges. His last day was Friday.

Bowers had worked for Cumberland County Mental Health since 1996. He was recently promoted in April.

Citing privacy laws, a representative for Cumberland County Mental Health would not discuss why Bowers is no longer employed.
