Posted Updated

DURHAM, N.C. — School leaders in Nash County may shut down a fire-damaged school for good.

Lightning sparked a fire at Cedar Grove Elementary School on Sunday, forcing students and teachers to relocate to Swift Creek Elementary School until repairs are finished.

The head of the school board now wants members to consider merging the schools permanently.
