Three Injured After Motorcycle Collides With Car In Morrisville

MORRISVILLE, N.C. — Cary police and the Highway Patrol are investigating a wreck that injured three people Sunday night.

The accident occurred at N.C. 55 and Kitt Creek Road just before 10 p.m.

The driver of the motorcycle, Peter Luke Trimachi, 45, and his wife, Lauren, were reportedly traveling 78 mph in a 55 mph zone. Cary police said as officers attempted to pull Trimachi over, he cut off a car driving in a crossing lane and crashed.

Peter Trimachi, an American Airlines pilot, is in good condition after he reportedly lost a leg. Lauren Trimachi is in fair condition.

The couple, who live in Durham, were airlifted to Duke Medical Center, where they are being treated.

The female driver of the car that was hit was taken to Western Wake Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

So far, no charges have been filed.
