HARNETT COUNTY, N.C. — A man convicted of killing his ex-girlfriend is changing his story.
Kenneth Byrd confessed to murdering Renee Lancaster last March. Byrd's new girlfriend, Roswitha Morrison, was also charged. Byrd testified in Morrison's trial, saying she actually pulled the trigger.
Lancaster, a mother of two, was shot several times, and her body was dumped in a drainage ditch in Harnett County.
Byrd is appealing his conviction.
