DURHAM, N.C. — Authorities have arrested six people so far in connection with the kidnapping of an 80-year-old Burlington woman.
The latest arrest is Christopher Mitchell of Durham. Investigators have issued warrants for a seventh suspect -- Brandon Caples of Hurdle Mills.
Terrence Lamont Brown of Pelham and Theodis Levon Rice of Durham were arrested early Sunday. They were charged with first-degree kidnapping, armed robbery, felony larceny and felony breaking and entering.
Police say the men went to Violet Neese's house earlier this month and asked to mow her lawn. When she refused, they forced her into the trunk of her car.
