DA To Decide On Possible Charges In Onslow Fire By End Of Week

Posted Updated

ONSLOW COUNTY, N.C. — The district attorney's office says it needs more information before it decides whether to file charges in an Onslow County fire.

Six children died when flames ripped through the mobile home on July 9. Four children remain hospitalized. Authorities say an 11-year-old accidentally started the fire.

Investigators are considering involuntary manslaughter charges against his mother, Mary Turner, who lost five children and a grandchild in the flames. A decision on the charges is expected by the end of the week.
