FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A lawsuit over a Fayetteville high school charter bus crash is now in mediation.
In April 2001, a group of Massey Hill High School students were on their way to a band competition in Florida when bus driver Darol Britt fell asleep at the wheel. Several students were injured in the accident.
Britt pleaded no contest to a number of crash-related charges.
According to one of the former students, the tour bus company offered to pay a settlement. But so far, the Cumberland County school system is not willing to take any responsibility.
