Trooper, Former Girlfriend Charged In Wife's Shooting

ROXBORO, N.C. — A state trooper and his former girlfriend havebeen indicted on charges in the shooting of the trooper's wife.

A Person County grand jury issued the indictmentsagainst Trooper Bobby Earl Regan and Linda Strickland Lee.

Regan was charged with attempted first-degree murder andconspiracy. Lee was charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

They are accused in the June 12 shooting of Danielle Regan, whowas wounded when a bullet pierced the window of her bathroom.

Both suspects posted bond last week.

Regan is suspended with pay from the Highway Patrol.
