Deputy Injured Outside Durham Courthouse

DURHAM, N.C. — For the second day in a row, a Durham deputy was hit by a car.

A car slammed into Sgt. Adam Clayton's cruiser Tuesday afternoon as he stopped in front of the Durham County courthouse.

Clayton complained of back pain, but he was able to drive himself to a hospital.

The driver behind Clayton was charged with failing to reduce speed.

On Monday,

Deputy Jonathan Helsius

, was injured while he was directing traffic during a funeral procession.
