RALEIGH, N.C. — North Carolina could soon be one of 29 states that includes all felons in a DNA Database.
A state Senate committee unanimously voted to change a law that restricts collecting evidence from some violent criminals.
State Attorney General Roy Cooper says it will help put criminals behind bars sooner.
Next week, the full House votes on a bill that will start a voluntary DNA database.
