Prosecutors Yet To Decide Whether Charges Will Be Filed In Onslow County Fire

Posted Updated

ONSLOW COUNTY, N.C. — Prosecutors have not decided if they will charge an 11-year-old boy with starting a fire that killed six children in Onslow County.

Four of his siblings are in critical condition at the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center in Chapel Hill.

Their mother, Lisa Jones, and another child are being treated at Onslow Memorial Hospital.

The sheriff says he expects both to be released Thursday.

Fire investigators say a 11-year-old lit incense early Wednesday morning, sparking the fire in their mobile home.
