Network Security Software Firm GFI Names First Chief Financial Officer

RALEIGH, N.C. — GFI

, an international provider of network security and messaging software, has hired an executive from a firm in the United Kingdom to be its first chief financial officer.

Joining GFI is Christopher Gale, who had been CFO and a member of the board of directors at Clearswift Ltd. Clearswift is a content security software firm.

"His breadth of experience and proven leadership in both public and private companies will greatly contribute to GFI's accelerating success," said Curtis Staker, chairman and chief executive officer of GFI, said about Gale.

Gale also spent 12 years at Apple Computer. He has more than 20 years of experience working with high tech firms.

Gale will be based at GFI's office in London.

GFI, which was founded in 1992, has offices and partners around the world.
