RALEIGH, N.C. — Campbell Alliance
has so many people working on assignments in Boston that the consulting firm has opened a new office there.
Campbell, which provides management consulting services to pharmaceutical and biotech firms, needed the office to act as a hub for its Northeast operations. The company recently opened an office in Chicago and is preparing to move into new headquarters space covering 28,000 square feet in Brier Creek near Raleigh-Durham International Airport.
The number of people working in Boston "is going to vary; the exact number to be dedicated to that office hasn't been determined yet," said James Forte, Campbell's senior manager for public and media relations. "We already have a senior management team for our brand management in Boston, and we have other consultants who are in and out of Boston working with clients. They usually are on site with the clients.
"Based on the number of clients we have in the Boston area and the number of consultants who frequent the area, it makes sense to have a full-time office there," he added.
Campbell is on a fast track of growth, with 140 full-time employees. About half of those are in Raleigh, according to Forte.
One reason for the Boston office is to help the firm in its recruiting efforts. It is located adjacent to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
"Overall the company has grown at 40 percent in annualized revenues," Forte said, "so we are always in growth mode."
Campbell clients include most of the top 20 pharmaceutical firms.
"Our move into Boston is another step in the firm's aggressive growth plans. On the cusp of our 10-year anniversary next year, Campbell Alliance is poised for continued growth, including additional regional offices in pharma and biotech hubs around the U.S. in 2007," said John Campbell, the firm's chief executive officer, in a statement.
Campbell also has offices in New Jersey, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York.
