Bus Driver Reprimanded For Dropping Student At Wrong Stop

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — A school bus driver who dropped off a Leesville Middle School student at an unfamiliar bus stop was reprimanded Tuesday, Wake County Public School System officials said.

For personnel reasons, though, the school system would not say what happened.

The 13-year-old girl's father told WRAL on Monday that the driver dropped off his daughter at the stop because she did not have written permission to be dropped off at a friend's house. The school system's transportation office said the driver should have taken the student back to her usual bus stop.

School system officials said Tuesday that transportation managers would remind drivers of the policy at the next monthly meeting.
